 General Information

Follow the Snow! Best of Tirol I

icon_info.gif Your destination...

...is where? We don't know exactly yet, but one thing is for sure: Tyrol and the areas there are terrific for our travel concept!

A fixed date, flexible ski areas in Tyrol where our guides know their way around - that's the motto for our unique Follow the Snow! camps.
To be as flexible as possible, to find the best snow and the best conditions - all this in the highest and most spectacular freeride areas of the Northern Alps, with a quick and easy journey and the 100% snow guarantee that we always have there thanks to the Tyrolean glaciers with their mega-high cable cars and lifts.
Why not decide quickly in the morning where the ski day is best spent, stress-free, without crowded terrain?
And Tyrol is still for that: The best place to go!

The Follow the Snow! Best of Tirol Camps are organised by us in cooperation with the organiser "FlatSucks" from Tyrol - the mountain guides then know exactly where to expect the best conditions for you.
The guides from FlatSucks will be there for you on site - there will be no Sport65 Safety Guide on site.
Your accommodation, the Ambachhof in the Ötztal, is so conveniently located that we can reach the surrounding freeride areas within 15-45 minutes in the morning and have dinner there or at the accommodation in the evening.
The mountain guides always decide at short notice and as spontaneously as possible which of the surrounding skiing areas we will go to on the respective days. According to: The best snow on the trail!

Of course, we can't give a 100% "powder guarantee", but we do our best and will definitely be able to make the best of the conditions on your booked date, so that we are #righttimerightplace...

A little bonus on the side: owners of the "Tirol Snowcard" often don't even need to buy a ski pass, because actually all the areas we can go to are in the association...

 Journey

Self arranged travelling by car or train

You can travel to Tyrol yourself. The hotel is located at the entrance to the Ötztal and can be reached very quickly and easily.
Alternatively: Take note of our "19.- Euro Ticket" - because you can get to the Ötztal very easily by train - Heiming station is only about 5km away from the hotel.
A pick-up from Innsbruck airport may also be possible (please enquire).
You can take the FlatSucks shuttle from the hotel/guesthouse to the ski areas!

Sport65 19.- Euro Ticket: If you travel by train to your Sport65 destination, we want to support that - because we want to try to reduce the winter sports footprint!

We also know that this is only a small contribution.
But: Big things always start small...
For local transfers we will of course find a place for you.
More Information here...

  • Arrival: On arrival day afternoon/evening - individual check-in at the accommodation.
Meeting & briefing with the guides: Either we will see each other on the arrival evening or for breakfast on the first ski day, approx. 7.45 a.m.
You will be given exact information shortly before the trip.
  • Departure: After skiing on the last ski day, approx. 4:30 p.m.

We will try to arrange carpools - but we can't give any guarantee.
Please contact us by mail if you:

  • can offer a ride / from where
  • are looking for a carpool / from where

We will then pass on contacts to each other relatively shortly before the trip and you can contact each other.

  Accommodation

Gasthof Ambachhof, Oetz - our Follow the Snow! Basecamp in Tyrol...

The Ambachhof: A simple house, super friendly run and: Perfectly situated for us!

At the Follow the Snow! Freeridecamps three criteria count above all:
Flexibility, flexibility and location of the accommodation!
And the Ambachhof in Oetz meets these three criteria perfectly:
The arrival is super fast and uncomplicated, the rooms are perfect for our purposes, the staff is mega friendly and helpful and the location is for our concept: Outstanding!
Because from Oetz we are quickly on our way in all directions in Tyrol in the morning - whether we are going into the Oetztal, whether we are going via the Inntal motorway in the direction of Arlberg or Innsbruck - or whether we are only 3-4 minutes away in the direction of the Hochoetz/Kühtai ski area.
You can also travel to Oetz perfectly by train, because Heiming station is only a few kilometres away and the bus takes you almost directly to the hotel door.
And as a little treat on top: the Ambachhof has a sensational pizzeria that our guests always love: because after a long day of skiing, you can also eat directly at the hotel if you haven't already stopped off somewhere on the way back.

What is important to us, however, is that the Ambachhof is a simple house - so if accommodation is very important to you at your freeidecamp, don't book this trip - but if flexibility and above all: good ski days are important to you: This is exactly your thing!

Facilities and services:

  • Big breakfast with typical specialities of the region
  • All rooms with shower, toilet, TV
  • Á la carte restaurant in the house
  • Free parking for your cars

 Skiresorts

Arlbergregion (St.Anton, Lech, Zürs, Stuben, Sonnenkopf,...)

Sorry, we did not translate the skiresorts facts in English.
But you may rest assured that this resort is a fabulous freeride spot!

Best of Tirol Freeridegebiete "Around Innsbruck"...

Sorry, we did not translate the skiresorts facts in English.
But you may rest assured that this resort is a fabulous freeride spot!

Feel free to contact us for further information or visit the website of the resort...
