To remove the ABS material from the sidewall (this prevents the file from becoming clogged with plastic material!).
Note: The ABS material MUST be removed before sanding the edge, otherwise the edge cannot be sanded free and get the perfect angle.

The aluminium oxide stone softens edges before grinding and removes coarse damage - very important, because without the oxide stone you will damage the file!!!!
It is the inexpensive alternative to the coarse diamond file.
Grinding stones are indispensable for edge grinding. They are used to remove hardening on the edge before grinding with the file, which would otherwise damage the expensive files. After grinding, the edges are polished, because the smoother the edge, the longer the sharpness lasts.(19 % VAT incl.) -
