Since 1973, when the legendary VÖLKL Racetiger was introduced, no other Völkl ski has stood for high performance and success like the Racetiger.
On the slalom course or on the piste in tight radii - in fact, wherever lightning-fast edge changes, reaction speed and consistently fantastic gliding properties are required, the Racetiger SL has been showing its strengths for generations.
And now 2 groundbreaking innovations have been "built in" to the Racetiger models!
With the highly innovative technology of Tailored Carbon Tips, the new R-Motion 3 GW binding plate and a narrower centre width for even faster edge change, Racetiger stand out from previous models.
These two new key technologies, as well as changes to the geometry, have a significant influence on the riding characteristics of the Race models - with the aim of achieving a tighter radius with less herbaceous effort when skiing sportily, as well as lighter and smoother turning behaviour at moderate speeds.
The new Racetiger models thus open up access to highly sporty skiing performance to an even larger target group.
In addition to 3D Glass, two layers of full-surface Titanal and the proven Multilayer Woodcore, the equipment is perfectly complemented by the new R-Motion 3 GW binding. The shortened plate in combination with the wider hole pattern delivers a more direct, powerful power transmission and allows faster edge changes.
The highlight, however, is the two rear screws that are no longer fixed, allowing the binding to glide freely and the ski to move harmoniously through the entire bending line with improved edge grip without being blocked.

Compared to a classic glass construction, the three-dimensional and multiple folded fabric layers in front, behind or in the binding area result in increased edge grip and a more lively springback of the ski in the turn.
- Tailored Carbon Tips:
In the new, tailor-made carbon tips, the individual carbon fibres are stitched onto a carrier material in this innovative manufacturing process. This allows them to be positioned exactly along the lines of force, which opens up completely new possibilities, especially in the area of the blade. This is because it has a decisive influence on the ski's performance. The stiffness, torsion and thus the skiing characteristics can be adjusted in a targeted manner via the fibre thickness and millimetre-precise alignment. In this way, the fibres channel the dynamics into the areas of the ski where they are needed. The visibly integrated Tailored Carbon Tips are light, enable agile shovel retraction with less effort and build up energy quickly. The tailor-made carbon tips thus reach a new level in terms of precision, direct shovel response and active skiing pleasure. - Multilayer Woodcore Wood core: 33% poplar, 67% beech
The sidewall continues into the interior of the ski in the form of directly backed, extremely stable wood layers on the flanks of the sandwich core. In combination with a more flexible, lighter wood in the middle of the sandwich core, this construction brings numerous advantages: The hardwood content within the sidewall provides increased power transmission, contributes to better edge grip and supports the edge when force is applied from the outside. The combination of both types of wood over the entire length of the ski contributes to an optimal stiffness distribution of the skis and enables more precise ski control - Full Sidewall: Ensures direct and best possible power transmission
- Full Titanal: Titanal in the ski structure makes the ski lively and dynamic. Fans of hard, fast and aggressive skiing in particular benefit from the responsiveness of this construction
- P-Tex 4505 Base: Sintered, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene base with extremely high density for maximum gliding properties and high wax absorption

The race-oriented rMotion3 GW binding system with completely redesigned race plate enables the best possible ski flex and above-average edge grip. Crucial to this are the wider, multiple screws as well as the shortened front and the two rear screws, which are no longer fixed, allowing the binding to glide freely and the ski to move harmoniously through the entire bending line with improved edge grip without being blocked.
The Xcell toe eliminates short, hard hits and keeps the boot continuously centred. Thanks to Twin Cam X heel, good step-in comfort is also ensured. rMotion3 GW can also be skied with GripWalk soles without any adjustment.
This binding can be used with all skiboots with Alpine (ISO 5355) or GripWalk soleblocks.
