The La Machine Micro combines all the features that have given the La Machine cult status in one (micro) package.
This ultra-lightweight carbon ski is a backcountry adventure seeker's dream - it's softer and 200g lighter than our popular Agents, so you can manoeuvre through open terrain as smooth as a cat.
Its progressive shape with extreme rocker provides effortless floatation and playful turning in a variety of snow conditions.
The Extended Rocker is a reverse camber shape in tip and tail, which is the most important element for floatation in fresh snow besides the waist width. Extended rocker also makes turning and turn initiation easier and reduces the risk of getting caught on the edge.
In addition to its first-class, durable Austrian quality construction, this ski impresses with its 100% sustainable production, of course two main features at Sport65: Sustainable and Made in Europe!
Developed, tested and perfected: In Verbier, the freeride Mecca of the Alps - that alone should be enough, right?

The La Machine series is the pinnacle of freetouring, the high-end version of an ascent- and downhill-oriented ski.
Faction's answer for real backcountry rippers. The double carbon layer makes the La Machines extremely light, making them ideal for efficient ascents. Their light weight paired with the soft flex and extreme rocker provide plenty of float and playful turning ability in a variety of snow conditions.
The overall setup is supported by eco-friendly construction - using a bio-based resin, recycled materials and a sustainable wood core - because playing in your natural playground is as important to you as preserving it.
Faction has the "crème de la crème" of freeriders and many mountain guides (such as Sam Antamatten) on board, who are constantly in contact with the Faction headquarters in Verbier and contribute their experience - and after the development: these ladies and gentlemen ride exactly the skis that you will find on the famous "Wall of Fame" ski wall in the Sport65 shop...

Elliptical Sidecut is made up of a longer radius underfoot and shorter radii in the tip and tail of the ski.
The long radius underfoot means you can pivot faster and easier, while a shorter radius in the tip and tail result in easier turn initiation. This sidecut allows for a wide variety of turns lengths, angles and mounting positions. - Rocker: Extended Tip and Tail Rocker
Extended Rocker is a reverse camber shape in the tip and tails, which along with waist width, is the most important element in providing float in fresh snow. Extended rocker also makes pivoting and turn initiation easier and means you have less chance of catching an edge. - Surf Zones: Unites rocker and tip taper ensuring these two key features work in harmony. Rocker provides float and facilitates pivoting, while a tapered tip moves the widest part of the ski closer to the center and removes unwanted hooking. Surf Zones promise a floaty, seamless ride in all conditions.
- Sidewall Construction with Anti-Chip Micro Cap and Full Strenght Sidewall technology
A hybrid of a premium sandwich sidewall construction fused with a lightweight, durable cap construction. With micro-cap, the sandwich construction provides awesome edge hold and torsional stability while the ski's topsheet wraps around and meets the sidewall, protecting the fragile joint that can be prone to chipping.
Full Strength Sidewall – This construction places strips of protective material along the sides of each core, between the edge and the topsheet. Sidewalls provide the best possible edge hold and stability when the ski is engaged in a turn as well as protecting the wood core, edges and topsheet from impacts and outside damage. - Woodcore: Lightweight Pauwlonia / Poplar Wood Core
Paulownia is a stable and lightweight hardwood and is combined with the softwood Poplar, to add flex and extra pop to the skis. The mix of these two woods results in a lightweight core with excellent responsiveness and rebound. - Full Carbon Weave:
Between 8 and 12 strips of Carbon, sandwiching either side of the ski’s woodcore, are laid unidirectionally, providing extra stability to the ski, without adding weight to the build. Each carbon strip is woven into the fibre glass to provide strength and stiffness in the full length of the ski. - Titanal Binding Plate:
When you're on a day-long touring trip in the backcountry, you need to rely on your gear. Titanal reinforcement plates are laid up on top of the lightweight cores ensuring that your binding screws hold. This one-piece design fits alpine and touring bindings, adding trustworthy durability to these lightweight cores.

.... is a story that goes on. Some years ago we allready had the skis of the Verbier based freeski brand in our range. Now they are back - why? Very simple, Factions masterminds Candide Thovex and Sam Anthatten are developing ski series that absolutly suits our needs for an allmost perfect ski!
Super high quaility, super versatile skis with different waists and perfecty adapted to your persnal needs.
It is still a small independent ski label with a selective distribution, skis that you do not find in every Intersport shop around your corner, neither on many freeriders boots...
Combined with high quality manufacture, Faction is allways the cherry on the pie for upcoming season!
