The ski touring world has been waiting for the Elan Ripstick Tour 88.
Low weight, good buoyancy, fast, stable, strong and versatile - all combined in one ski.
Together with the freeride team and many mountain guides, Elan has developed this groundbreaking construction, which makes it possible to reduce the weight to a minimum and at the same time increase the performance to a maximum.
Yet the ski remains playful and versatile for any terrain.
With a centre width of 88 mm, it is very light and easy to ride.
This makes it a highly modern touring ski.
Free touring is the trend in alpinism. The mixture of light equipment that convinces with performance in powder and stability in difficult conditions is essential.
The Ripstick Tour 88 is wide enough to feel safe on descents and narrow enough to comfortably master long ascents.
This makes it a multi-talent in the touring segment. With a weight of about 1250 g at a ski length of 170 cm, the ideal weight of a touring ski has been achieved without compromising on stability and performance.
With the integrated Carbon Bridge technology, carbon reinforcements have been built in for a rounded feel and playful responsiveness.
The length of the carbon inserts was chosen to minimise vibrations and unrest in the shovel. The reduced sidewall design gives the ski a distinctive look and brings the benefit of further weight reduction.
Full sidewalls increase edge pressure and contact with the base.
With an optimal weight-to-performance ratio, the freeride profile of this ski ensures unforgettable experiences in open terrain, whatever the conditions.

The Amphibio technology is a unique, revolutionary innovation, combining the rocker and camber profiles. The secret lies in the left and right ski, featuring a cambered inside edge assuring edge grip and stability with the rockered outside edge for easier turning.

Ripstick skis are totally new skis from Elan and they come in five different geometries. The whole line is targeting the Freetouring market - lightweight skis with great descent performance. Rocker and Camber are combined in a unique way that makes skiing easier and more fun. The tips of the skis have a blend of both rocker and camber. TNT Technologie:
Ripstick was created to help all skiers excel on the toughest terrain and in the most challenging conditions. This unique ski utilizes TNT technology, which combines a TubeLite woodcore with VaporTip inserts. The Tublite woodcore is constructed with tip-to-tail carbon tubes that run the entire length of the ski. These tubes follow the arc of the side cut, and reduce weight without sacrificing performance by increasing torsional stability and delivering powerful rebound. Whether hiking the backcountry or skiing in-bounds a lighter ski saves energy, which means more runs and more fun! VaporTip inserts are advanced composites integrated into the tip and tail of the ski’s woodcore. These inserts reduce chatter, significantly improving stability, while ensuring a smooth ride. Due to the long relationship between Sport65 and Matthias Mayr, the master mind of Elan Freeride skis we knew: These ski rocks - the are produced with highest quality standards and perfect constructions. Easy to ski and super versatile in any snow condition!
Especially the new freeski line with the Ripstick series is one of the best skis in the Sport65 range - and so: On the whole market.
Elan's story begins during World War ll, when twelve craftsmen and engineers manufacture several hundred pairs of lighweight, durable wooden skis for Partisan troops. Formally, Elan is established in 1945 by Rudi Fin¸gar, a visionary and an audacious ski jumper, who jumps a world record (95 meters) in 1941.
In the Nineties Elan adds another innovation to its long list and causes a major stir: they introduce shaped carving skis, which are arguably the most important novelty in the contemporary skiing industry.
Decades of revolutions and dedicated R&D work culminates in 2012 when Elan is named the most innovative sports brand by Plus X Award, and again in 2015.
