We loved the ski in our tests - because the ski is a real, true giantslalom ski in terms of performance, without being so tiring when the thighs are slowly glowing and the power is no longer there in the afternoon like in the morning...
An ideal ski for casual carving, even if the piste is not 100% carpet-like.
Of course, you can also test the ski at our Test Centre before you buy it (as long as we still have it) - because one thing is certain: after the test, they will be sold in no time. Guaranteed!

Blizzard THUNDERBIRD - a completely new, unprecedented ski series is waiting for ultimate high-performance piste use and will conquer the slopes - guaranteed!
With the new Thunderbird concept Blizzard carves into new spheres of ski construction - the whole not only designed by the Blizzard professionals from the factory in Mittersill, but worldwide many dealers, ski instructors and passionate skiers were involved in a focus group in the development of this new series - among others, we from Sport65 could also participate here - and: Are super happy that the Blizzard engineers have implemented exactly our wish!
Because the Thunderbird series is based on a simple concept: A ski construction made exclusively of high-end materials such as carbon and titanal, HANDMADE in Mittersill in Salzburgerland, so in the middle of the Alps.
A perfect binding integration and tuning on a free gliding Marker plate and with the safe and perfectly power transmitting Marker bindings.
And of course the heart of the ski: the revolutionary TRUEBLEND Woodcore from Blizzard - the patented wood core construction that makes the difference to all other ski manufacturers.
The Trueblend Woodcore is nothing new, as it has already dominated all tests in the super successful "Allcondition" series with Brahma, Black Pearl and Bonafide and has thrilled skiers of all levels.
Keep-It-Simple: 3 ski models with 3 different radii and thus 3 different on-piste application areas: R13 for slalom or shortturn radii, R15 and R15 Widebody for multiturn radii and the R18 for giant slalom high-speed longturns!
A small, clear series that offers absolute variety - easy turn initiation even at moderate speed - super track stable at high speed.
A ski for riders who also "hang back", a ski for high-performance riders who want to let it rip with perfect technique, but for whom a pure race ski is too stressful! A ski that brings pure skiing fun from the first turn to the last chairlift...

New plate system that provides WC Piston plate performance in an adjustible binding plateform with maximum free flex
- Sandwich Compound Sidewall: Classic and highest quality ski construction with ABS sidewall and laminated wood core
- Trueblend On-Piste Woodcore: What makes the new Thunderbird so accessible, powerful and easy to handle is the perfectly balanced flex offered by its Trueblend Woodcore. It was already developed in the Blizzard All-Mountain collection for winter 2020 and has now been further developed for the demands of piste skiing. Two different types of wood (beech and poplar) are combined into a single wood core. The different density stringers are carefully positioned by quantity and length to create three different density ranges to precisely control flex. The Trueblend Piste Woodcore has a harder flex zone in the middle for stability and edge grip, a medium flex zone in front and behind the binding for control, and a softer flex zone in the tip and tail for easy turn initiation and rebound
Trueblend technology allows precise control of flex throughout the length of the ski and at any size - Active Carbon Armor: Active Carbon Armor is a vibration dampening and rebound control system located under the binding. Inspired by the Carbon Armor from the Firebird collection, the carbon fibre plate has been moved to the outside of the ski body, allowing it to flex freely. Active Carbon Armor provides vibration dampening as well as improved rebound and acceleration without compromising the progressive flex of the ski.
In this way, the ski is less demanding and still offers a very high level of performance - Double Titanal: Titanal dampens the ski but also makes it lively and gives incredible performance as well as more grip when the slope is harder....

The TPX 12 DEMO binding from Marker is a high-performance model suitable for skiers looking for the perfect combination of high performance, comfort and compatibility with GripWalk soles.
The Triple Pivot X toe offers excellent power transfer, upward release function and a low centre of gravity in turns, while the TCX Light heel enhances comfort with entry facilitated by Twincam technology.
This binding can be used with all skiboots with Alpine (ISO 5355) or GripWalk (ISO 23223) soles.
