Blizzard Rustler 9 24/25

The Rustler 9 in its new version - a super all-mountain ski is waiting for you!

"Blizzard’s buzzy revamp to the Rustler and Sheeva series was greeted with open arms by our testers, who unanimously agreed that the brand took a good thing and improved the hell out of it. This ski was a favorite from the get-go; it lost a few points for stability at the very highest of speeds, but raked in accolades in every other category. To a lot of our testers, this ski felt like a marriage of the old Rustler 9 and the Bonafide. A playful Bonafide may not be the perfect ski for lower intermediates, but it could be the holy grail for expert skiers who want a stiffer platform with less of a “dad shape.” The Rustler 9 feels like what happens when a race-room development team goes on a bender at a Freeride World Tour after-party and listens to one too many of Léo Slemett’s ideas. And we couldn’t be more thrilled with the result.” (Test US Ski Magazine)

The new Blizzard Rustler 9 is a freerider that feels visibly at home in deep powder snow but, as an all-mountain ski, cuts at least as good a figure on hard slopes thanks to its new construction!
A dream ski for years - now completely revised (see below) but still: One for everything - primarily in the backcountry, of course, but also for the day on the slopes a real fun device - one of the favourite skis of the Sport65 team!
What makes the new version so unique? We'll explain in detail here - but the best thing is to come to our shop in Weinheim, where you will of course find the Rustler on the "Wall of Fame"... and can also test it!

icon_info.gif The Secret... Blizzard Rustler with a completely new construction - a classic made even better...
With the Rustler and Sheeva line, Blizzard finally catapulted to the top of the freeski labels a few years ago!
In North America the most successful ski series in this segment, in Europe of course just as popular with connoisseurs - because with Rustler and Sheeva you know exactly what you can rely on!
But when it comes to freeriding, no one knows better than the freeriders themselves. That's why Blizzard developed the new generation of Rustler and Sheeva together with some of the best skiers in the world.
The Rustler 9, Rustler 10, Rustler 11 and the women's Sheeva 9, 10 and 11 models are absolute freeride machines.
And now: Even more relaxed skiing - without sacrificing the slightest bit of performance - again: right on the pulse of the times - because modern freeride skis may have titanal built in - but should still offer a certain playfulness and be as light as possible in addition to the skiing stability that this material guarantees.
From the first to the last lift - from the first step on the tour to the last turn,...
And what did the Blizzard engineers come up with for this?
That: we explain here - because of course Holger from the Sport65 team, who has been working for Blizzard for years, was involved in the development.

The heart of the new Sheeva and Rustler is the Truebland wood core - already known from the Brahma and Thunderbird models.
Here, however, in a special Trueblend Free Woodcore version.
It combines beech and poplar - two wood types that guarantee performance - with paulownia for a light but powerful wood core.
The result: the right flex for all freeride needs in a lighter package.
The Trueblend Free Woodcore is designed with a harder flex zone in the middle for stability and edge grip, a medium flex zone in front and behind the binding for control, and a soft flex zone in the tip and tail for easy turn initiation and release. Trueblend technology makes it possible to precisely control the flex over the entire length of the ski and at any size.
This is an important aspect, especially for freeride skis, which have a huge range of different lengths: each length has its own wood core, its own shape.

The second groundbreaking innovation is the new FLUXFORM shape: The FluxForm is designed to combine perfectly with the Trueblend Wood Core. Reducing the torsional stiffness of the tip and tail areas of the skis while complementing stability and control underfoot, the thin titanal layer now features a tapered front frame for easy lift and a constant-width tail frame for grip.
Like the core construction, the FluxForm is specifically sized for each model. Tapered at the tips for perfect floatation and wider at the tail for more support during fast turns in powder and landings off cliffs.

And last but not least: Rustler and Sheeva clearly belong in the freeride ski category - here it's all about downhill performance in the backcountry, but also sometimes on the piste - and this is achieved by DURAMAX Technology. The three individual Titanal pieces are shaped and placed so that the ski is dampening and stable underfoot, but torsionally soft and playful in the tip and tail.
The outer Titanal extends to the edge of the ski and absorbs all impacts that occur along the top edge, reducing scratches and eliminating chipping.

The smooth rocker that has always characterised these models does the rest - the flowing transition from camber to rocker, which runs from the centre of the ski to the tip and tail, combines lively responsiveness with early lift in a homogeneous way - but lets the ski ride sensationally on the edge when the going gets tough.

Nevertheless, there is a noticeable difference between the Rustler and the Sheeva models, and not just in the pretty new graphics inspired by ocean waves and inspired by ocean waves and the Northern Lights.
The new Sheeva is the latest result of Blizzard's unique W2W programme and was tested and developed by women for women. As a result, the new Sheeva the new Sheeva has a softer shock-absorber platform in the centre of the ski, which was requested by female skiers in order to perform softer.

You see: same name, completely new ski - in short: test it and you will be 100% thrilled!

icon_info.gif Blizzard, Tecnica and Nordica at the Sport65 "Headquarter of Fun"...
When companies in winter sports exist for over 75 years, it is something special!
So special, of course, that they should not be missing from the Sport65 range.
What can you say about these legendary brands? Every skier knows the three labels, almost every ski enthusiast has certainly had a Nordica or Tecnica boot or a Blizzard ski under or on their feet at some point in their life.
And for some years now: These brands are experiencing a comeback that is unparalleled!
Blizzard is currently number 1 on the North American market.
Holger has been working as a representative and team rider for Blizzard and Tecnica for years. He has been involved in the "realignment" of the brands from the very beginning.
Tecnica and Nordica ski boots are hard to beat in terms of fit, quality and performance - especially in the freeride sector with boots with high flex and pin inserts.
Why do you think almost all guides and ski instructors at Sport65 and freerideschule.de like Tecnica or Nordica soles?
The Blizzard and Nordica skis from Mittersill are fantastic in all different areas of use, from race to high performance on-piste to freeride and freetouring - logically they are in great numbers on our famous "Wall of Fame" in the Sport65 shop.
Top products are made exclusively from top materials, which makes these products a little more expensive, but durable and of insane quality.
Pure riding fun is guaranteed.
Of course, you will also find many Nordica and Blizzard skis as well as Tecnica boots in the Sport65 rental & test centre, just come to our shop in Weinheim...

This product is "made in Europe"!
Always a main focus in the Sport65 range!
The Blizzard and Nordica skis are developed, tested and produced in their own factory in Mittersill, almost directly at the lift - as a close partner, we at Sport65 are often involved from the very beginning.
Tecnica and Nordica boots are developed in Giavera, at the foot of the Dolomites, by real skiers - and are also produced there.
All liners: hand-sewn in Italy - quality you can feel!
