 Productsdescription

Blizzard Rustler 10 21/22

The test results speak for themselves: perhaps the best freeride ski on the market?

"A thinner sheet of titanium alloy (titanal) lays edge-to-edge underfoot, tapering out between the binding and tips. Like most skis with metal, the Rustler 10 is torsionally rigid on edge and stable at 60 mph though chopped snow.
But the tapered shape and thickness of the titanal is what sets this ski apart, making it more playful, somewhat forgiving, and just plain fun."
(Skiers Choice, Test US Powder Magazine)

"One word found in every tester’s comments: easy. They could carve it, schmear it, pop through moguls, and take it on the steepest terrain they could find. The Rustler 10 just makes skiing anything and everything easy. Featuring freeride-specific rocker, Carbon Flipcore tech, and Titanal underfoot, this ski is the cool kid in the back of the classroom that entertains everyone, including the teachers, and always gets an A without trying too hard." (Test Ski Magazine, 18/19)

"One way to appreciate Blizzard's Rustler 10 for what it is would be to consider what it isn’t: a Cochise, its beast of a big brother that’s equipped to support strong, fast skiers who rip through crud fields at 40 mph. If you’d like to have that kind of confidence but aren’t likely to go anywhere near that fast, the Blizzard Rustler 10 could be right up your alley. Built in accepted Big Mountain skis fashion with tips and tails that are both rockered and tapered so they don’t interfere with the smearing action that takes the travail out of off-trail travel, the Rustler 10 gets serious underfoot. That’s where you’ll find the D.R.T. Titanal platform, which tapers to a blunt point on either end. Carbon stringers embedded in glass sheets do the rest of the heavy lifting in a light structure grounded in a multi-material core comprised of the usual poplar and beech accompanied by Paulownia, balsa and ISO composite. “A confidence builder,” remarked Paul Jacobs of the Blizzard Rustler 10. “Fun, playful, easy in cut-up snow with surprising power. Crud, powder, big bumps become easy to ski.” (On the Snow Magazine 17/18)

The Rustler 10 is certainly one of the most versatile freeride skis in the Blizzard Progressive collection.

Are you looking for a ski that is easy and playful to ride in powder, but still has the necessary smoothness?
Then the Rustler 10 is the right ski for you.
With Dynamic Release Technology and a fibreglass carbon binding that tapers at the tip and tail, the ski becomes less demanding and aggressive, manoeuvring effortlessly into treeruns while still remaining stable at high speeds.
The Blizzard Carbon Flip Core also saves weight and keeps the Rustler 10 from becoming a chunk on your leg on freeride excursions.
The Rustler 10 is a real fun tool for a wide range of conditions.
It convinces with an innovative mid-width concept: the longer the ski, the wider in the middle. This offers ambitious freeriders and pro athletes more floatation even in steep terrain. Switch landings in the backcountry are also no problem thanks to a longer and wider rocker at the tip and tail. The use of the Blizzard Carbon Flip Core saves 15% weight on the Rustler without sacrificing stability.

About the Blizzard Progressive Freeride Line...
With the "progressive freeride line" Blizzard finally catapulted itself to the top of the freeski labels! Gunsmoke or Peacemaker were already super - here they are even outshone. The Blizzard developers around Michele Botteon have created something completely new.
The Rustler 9, Rustler 10, Rustler 11, the SPUR and the women's models Sheeva 9, 10 and 11 are absolute freeride machines.
Exactly what freeriders demand of their material today: Lightweight skis (with lightweight wood core from the Zero G series!), yet stable and nippy (thanks to Titanal layer), super manoeuvrable thanks to tip-tail rocker with softer torsion and a new sidecut that brings mega fun even on piste days!
Also new in Rustler, Sheeva and Spur: the Dynamic Release (D.R.T.) technology.
This is a special fibreglass-carbon construction that makes the skis less demanding and aggressive, but gives them enormous smoothness despite tip and tail rocker.
The special thing about the line is that the waists "grow" with the skis - shorter ski, narrower middle, the longer the ski, the wider the middle. This means that the ski adapts to its rider not only through its length, but also through its centre width.
Which makes perfect sense - but for cost reasons it is not usually built that way...
The only exception is the ISPO award-winning "SPUR" - it is only available as a Big Toy with 192cm and a full 124mm centre...

 Technical Details

Blizzard Rustler 10 21/22

  • Dimensions: 132/102/122 (172cm)
    133/102/122.5 mm (180cm)
    135,5/104/125,5 (188cm)

  • Weight: 1820gr (172cm)
  • Rocker-Camber-Rocker: Ski profile with a rocker at the tip and tail, camber in the middle. Reducing the pressure on the edge at the tip and tail makes the ski even easier to handle and increases floatation on powder snow. The camber guarantees great grip on packed snow in any case.

icon_info.gif Blizzard Carbon Flip Core D.R.T. technology
This new technology uses a strategically designed sheet of titanal that is full width under foot and tapers as you reach the tip and the tail. This retains power and stability under foot while allowing the tips and tails to be lighter, softer, and make the entire ski more playful. There's also uni-directional carbon in the tips and tails and an anti-shock layer underneath them to reduce tip deflection in variable snow.

  • Optimal pressure distribution on the edges
  • Skis are extremely easy to use and manoeuvrable
  • Floatation effect
  • Stability at high speed
  • Natural flex
  • Great grip and stability

 The Story

Blizzard Rustler 10 21/22

icon_info.gif Blizzard, Tecnica and Nordica at the Sport65 "Headquarter of Fun"...
When companies in winter sports exist for over 75 years, it is something special!
So special, of course, that they should not be missing from the Sport65 range.
What can you say about these legendary brands? Every skier knows the three labels, almost every ski enthusiast has certainly had a Nordica or Tecnica boot or a Blizzard ski under or on their feet at some point in their life.
And for some years now: These brands are experiencing a comeback that is unparalleled!
Blizzard is currently number 1 on the North American market.
Holger has been working as a representative and team rider for Blizzard and Tecnica for years. He has been involved in the "realignment" of the brands from the very beginning.
Tecnica and Nordica ski boots are hard to beat in terms of fit, quality and performance - especially in the freeride sector with boots with high flex and pin inserts.
Why do you think almost all guides and ski instructors at Sport65 and freerideschule.de like Tecnica or Nordica soles?
The Blizzard and Nordica skis from Mittersill are fantastic in all different areas of use, from race to high performance on-piste to freeride and freetouring - logically they are in great numbers on our famous "Wall of Fame" in the Sport65 shop.
Top products are made exclusively from top materials, which makes these products a little more expensive, but durable and of insane quality.
Pure riding fun is guaranteed.
Of course, you will also find many Nordica and Blizzard skis as well as Tecnica boots in the Sport65 rental & test centre, just come to our shop in Weinheim...

This product is "made in Europe"!
Always a main focus in the Sport65 range!
The Blizzard and Nordica skis are developed, tested and produced in their own factory in Mittersill, almost directly at the lift - as a close partner, we at Sport65 are often involved from the very beginning.
Tecnica and Nordica boots are developed in Giavera, at the foot of the Dolomites, by real skiers - and are also produced there.
All liners: hand-sewn in Italy - quality you can feel!
