BASE LAYER

• 100 % Silikon
• The adhesive layer adheres reliably to the base without any glue - and can also be easily removed
• Gecko skins adhere thanks to their extremely absorbent silicone coating
• Completely without glue
• For wet or dry surfaces, at warm or low temperatures
• The skins are simply folded together without separating foil - this saves a lot of trouble in windy conditions on a peak
• Later separation is done without any effort
• The silicone coating is guaranteed to last longer than hot melt adhesive
• Tears, as with conventional adhesive skins, do not occur with Gecko
• Dirt can be removed with the Gecko Silicon Cleaning Spray, so that the absorbency is rebuilt.

GLIDING LAYER

• The glide layer prevents slipping back when climbing - and glides with little resistance in the walking direction
• Glide layer made of 100 % mohair - with excellent gliding and climbing properties
• 20% higher fur density and diagonally woven-in mohair fibres provide more performance and significantly longer durability
  The gliding layer is perfectly laminated with the backing material - to prevent the coat from getting wet and to provide hygienic protection against mould growth
• Fur edge is cleanly cut and does not fray out
• The glide layer is hydrophobic to prevent pilling and can be reimpregnated with a spray or wax. Unique to Gecko, the wax can be ironed into the mohair at 100 degrees because silicone is heat resistant up to +250 degrees
• This process would be impossible with a conventional adhesive fur with hot melt glue

The GECKO Story...

Michael Puelacher from Hall in Tyrol is a trained butcher - and a passionate ski tourer.
He has never been enthusiastic about existing ski skins and the way they are made.
So he experimented with different materials himself and developed the first glueless touring skins in 2007.
The name? Gecko.
Because the innovative skins, like the Geckos, can hold themselves on smooth surfaces through adhesive forces.
The demand for the world novelty is enormous right from the start. In the meantime, Michael has eliminated the teething troubles, optimised the materials and further developed the skins. The long durability, easy handling and best gliding properties prove to be legendary.
