The result is a lightweight electronic airbag system that allows multiple releases, is intuitive to use and can be relied on.
We at Sport65, as one of ORTOVOX's premium partners, have been involved in the testing of this new system from the very beginning - at our freeride camps you are welcome to test this new system, try it out and use it where the backpack belongs:

The electric system is charged with USB-C in approx. 25 minutes and allows numerous test releases without additional costs. Doing without cartridges means: more space, no weighing, no cartridge disposal, no travel restrictions. The design has been thought out down to the last detail, super capacitors are used instead of cartridges and the airbag is super light - making the system one of the lightest on the market.
In addition, the system is particularly easy to operate. From the charging process and the LED charging indicator to the deployment handle, the leg strap and the packing of the airbag: LiTRIC AVABAGs are absolutely intuitive to use.
Oh yes: If you register the system at https://www.ortovox.com/service-hub, the system warranty is extended from 2 to 5 years.

Advantages LiTRIC system vs. cartridge systems:

• Taking it with you on the plane?
  Clear statement: No problem at the moment! The backpack has no explosive charges, pressure vessels or similar can be transported without any problems!
   No cartridges / no Li-Ion battery: no restrictions on travel and shipping*.
   The LiTRIC system is not operated with a CO2 or compressed air cartridge
   - therefore no more problems when travelling by air, from our experience it is hardly possible to fly without problems with all pressure cartridges, because in this system not even a possible problem with a rechargeable battery (because it doesn't have one!) can occur (see below).
• The super capacitors, which are insensitive to cold, and the lithium-ion battery allow an operating time of about 60 hours when switched on, so that tours lasting several days are possible without recharging. The LED display on the side of the battery indicates the charge status and the system's readiness for operation. Powerful at temperatures from -30 to 45°C
• Ready for multiple use: LiTRIC is equipped with a powerful fan powered by a supercapacitor (no battery!) that fills the 150L volume within 3.5 seconds.
  - Produced in Bavaria, the LiTRIC system provides at least two trips within 60 hours on one battery charge. Charging at home is easy via USB-C. It can be tested as often as desired at no additional cost.
• Fast charging in 25 minutes  - Accidental false triggers are therefore also no longer a problem.
• Ongoing costs for cartridge changes, test releases: ZERO, just electricity (which you can even tap at the hotel...)
• With only 1100g total weight of the entire airbag system, it is extremely light and hardly noticeable in Ortovox backpacks
• Mechanical release and release locking mechanism: no electronic failure possible
• From the height-adjustable, secured release handle to the newly designed safety leg loop - the intuitive design makes the LiTRIC system easy to use and easy to stow away
• Super easy to repack: The entire airbag system is very easy and quick to stow away after a deployment - so you're quickly "ready to go" again
• And the most important reason for us to use an electronic system: You don't have to get a new cartridge or a complete release unit when you have released the backpack - because often you won't find them at your local dealer when you are out and about on your freeride adventures somewhere in the world!

The Freeride 26S is an avalanche airbag backpack for small people or ladies that is specifically designed for off-piste skiing.
From powder days near the slopes to multi-day freeride trips: different sized AVABAG LiTRIC FREERIDE and TOUR zip attachments can be placed on just one BASE, always matched to the area of use.
The S stands for the shorter back length - smaller people or ladies should choose this version, as the backpack simply fits better.
The zip is designed in such a way that the different panniers and the base can be easily combined to form a single unit.
The BASE, consisting of the back element and airbag system of the AVABAG LiTRIC FREERIDE 18, sits compactly on the back thanks to the CLASP BACK SYSTEM - with soft back pads, wide, flexible hip belt and soft shoulder straps - and at the same time allows complete freedom of movement.
It is compatible with the CLASP SPINE PROTECTOR, available separately.
In addition, all pack features are tailored precisely to freeriding: Features such as ski, snowboard and pick fixation are just as essential as a helmet holder and fast main compartment access leave nothing to be desired. Emergency equipment can be fixed in the main compartment in special gear loops.
