icon_info.gif Your destination...

...is where? We don't know exactly yet, but one thing is for sure: Tyrol and the areas there are terrific for our travel concept!

A fixed date, flexible ski areas in Tyrol where our guides know their way around - that's the motto for our unique Follow the Snow! camps.
To be as flexible as possible, to find the best snow and the best conditions - all this in the highest and most spectacular freeride areas of the Northern Alps, with a quick and easy journey and the 100% snow guarantee that we always have there thanks to the Tyrolean glaciers with their mega-high cable cars and lifts.
Why not decide quickly in the morning where the ski day is best spent, stress-free, without crowded terrain?
And Tyrol is still for that: The best place to go!

The Follow the Snow! Best of Tirol Camps are organised by us in cooperation with the organiser "FlatSucks" from Tyrol - the mountain guides then know exactly where to expect the best conditions for you.
The guides from FlatSucks will be there for you on site - there will be no Sport65 Safety Guide on site.
Your accommodation, the Ambachhof in the Ötztal, is so conveniently located that we can reach the surrounding freeride areas within 15-45 minutes in the morning and have dinner there or at the accommodation in the evening.
The mountain guides always decide at short notice and as spontaneously as possible which of the surrounding skiing areas we will go to on the respective days. According to: The best snow on the trail!

Of course, we can't give a 100% "powder guarantee", but we do our best and will definitely be able to make the best of the conditions on your booked date, so that we are #righttimerightplace...

A little bonus on the side: owners of the "Tirol Snowcard" often don't even need to buy a ski pass, because actually all the areas we can go to are in the association...

  Accommodation

Gasthof Ambachhof, Oetz - our Follow the Snow! Basecamp in Tyrol...

The Ambachhof: A simple house, super friendly run and: Perfectly situated for us!

At the Follow the Snow! Freeridecamps three criteria count above all:
Flexibility, flexibility and location of the accommodation!
And the Ambachhof in Oetz meets these three criteria perfectly:
The arrival is super fast and uncomplicated, the rooms are perfect for our purposes, the staff is mega friendly and helpful and the location is for our concept: Outstanding!
Because from Oetz we are quickly on our way in all directions in Tyrol in the morning - whether we are going into the Oetztal, whether we are going via the Inntal motorway in the direction of Arlberg or Innsbruck - or whether we are only 3-4 minutes away in the direction of the Hochoetz/Kühtai ski area.
You can also travel to Oetz perfectly by train, because Heiming station is only a few kilometres away and the bus takes you almost directly to the hotel door.
And as a little treat on top: the Ambachhof has a sensational pizzeria that our guests always love: because after a long day of skiing, you can also eat directly at the hotel if you haven't already stopped off somewhere on the way back.

What is important to us, however, is that the Ambachhof is a simple house - so if accommodation is very important to you at your freeidecamp, don't book this trip - but if flexibility and above all: good ski days are important to you: This is exactly your thing!

Facilities and services:

  • Big breakfast with typical specialities of the region
  • All rooms with shower, toilet, TV
  • Á la carte restaurant in the house
  • Free parking for your cars

 Skiresorts

Arlbergregion (St.Anton, Lech, Zürs, Stuben, Sonnenkopf,...)

Sorry, we did not translate the skiresorts facts in English.
But you may rest assured that this resort is a fabulous freeride spot!

Feel free to contact us for further information or visit the website of the resort...

One of the most spectacular and snow-assured freeride valleys in the Alps is waiting...

Statistically the most snow-assured areas in Austria!
Skiing, après, sports and party - there is probably no other area in Europe where you can put all this under your famous hat.
Here we have the ultimate home advantage: almost all of our mountain guides come from this region and know their way around perfectly!

Right at the entrance to the Ötztal valley there are 2 small areas that are considered perfect freeride (and secret!) spots - Hochötz/Ochsengarten and the Kühtai offer endless possibilities with their lifts, all the way down to the valleys to be discovered.
Ingenious, because here only families ride through the area and we find space without end!
You can reach very good and long runs with little ascent, and the terrain is not very rugged in these typical "family areas" - good for us...

In the middle of the valley lies the world-famous Sölden, snow-assured by no less than 2 glaciers, modern lifts, cosy huts and always good snow - here you will find all this in large quantities.
Sölden is the first ski resort in Austria to offer 3 accessible 3000-metre peaks (also known as BIG 3) with ultra-modern lifts - here you will find undreamt-of freeride possibilities with downhill runs into remote valleys or even over into the Pitztal.
The two Sölden glaciers alone offer a lot, it's a damn high altitude!
The steep gullies of Gaislachkogl) complete the super freeride area of Sölden.
Of course, our guides know almost every stone here and know exactly where it will go best...

Hochgurgl and Obergurgl, located at the very end of the valley, have long been more than just insider tips for the freeride scene - but only if you know the area perfectly - because the high alpine location also holds many dangers but many more possibilities.
Almost nobody rides off-piste there, because the "gurgling" crowd is rather comfortable and very piste-oriented - all the better for us!
Here too, all the lifts are brand new and offer outstanding transport comfort.
With little ascent you can reach unbelievably long runs, all the way down and right into the middle of Obergurgl.
What is also known: Gurgl is perhaps the largest "snow hole" in Austria, because here the clouds often snow out just as fertilely during the north jam as when the clouds stream in from the south.

Data / Facts / Worth knowing...

Total kilometres of pistes: approx. 350 km
Number of lifts / lifts: approx. 70
Guaranteed snow: Glaciers up to 3250m do not even cause snow worries here.
By the way, Gurgl is statistically considered the area with the most snow in Austria...

Freerideregion Silvretta/Paznaun (Ischgl, Samnaun, See, Kappl, Galtür)

Sorry, we did not translate the skiresorts facts into English.
But you may rest assured that this resort is a fabulous freeride spot!

Feel free to contact us for further information or visit the website of the resort...

Was willst du mehr?
Denn was machen Familien?

Rental equipment:

The next points are only needed in case you would like to have rental or test equipment (Skis, boots, etc). This equipment you can get adjusted before departure in our shop or we can bring it with us to the destination.
Attention: Proper adjustment of the bindings is only possible in our Sport65 shop. On the road we can only adjust the bindings manually. The skis are calibrated and the functionality of the bindings is tested. Due to that fact there is no binding adjustment as per IAS norm possible on-site. The use of rental equipment takes place at the user's own risk. Sport65 cannot be held responsible for binding adjustment without automatic testing. The renter can get his bindings adjusted in a sport shop on-site at own cost.
Sport65 equipment is not automatically insured against breakage or theft.
For the booked rental equipment our rental terms are applicable: For cancellation of rental equipment a handling fee of 10.- Euro will be retained. For cancellation from 3 days before departure 80% of the rental fee will be charged. There is no discount possible for rental equipment retured earlier than planned.
